NATIONAL EXPOSITION „POLISH SCIENCE AND INNOVATION FOR THE ENVIRONMENT”

International Trade Fair for Environmental Protection POLEKO, 27-30 October 2008, Poznań, Poland 23rd International Exhibition of Environmental Equipment, Technologies and Services POLLUTEC 2008, 2-5 December 2008, Lyon, France

The National Exhibition „Polish Science and Innovation” is aimed at presenting the eco-innovation potential of Polish research organizations and enterprises to an international audience. Twenty five technologies, products and solutions which have been implemented and brought tangible environmental, economic and social effects have been selected for display. The Exhibition presents also initiatives and programmes which the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Environment launched to boost eco-innovative solutions as effective examples of cooperation between the scientific and business community for sustainable development.

The National Exhibition „Polish Science and Innovation for the Environment” is organised by the Institute for Ecology of Industrial Areas, Polish Platform of Environmental Technologies and the International Thematic Scientific Network on Environmental Technologies ENVITECH-Net under the honorary patronage of Mr. Waldemar Pawlak – Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy, Ms. Barbara Kudrycka – Minister of Science and Higher Education, Mr. Maciej Nowicki – Minister of the Environment.

Polish research organisations and innovative enterprises have a number of achievements in the area of environmental technologies proven by prizes and recognitions awarded in the national and international competitions e.g. Polish Product of the Future, Leader of Polish Ecology, Polish edition of the Clean Business, Brussels Eureka Awards etc. It is in the interest of the research organisations and businesses to ensure a widespread promotion of these solutions at home and internationally. The Exposition is accompanied by a number of events and a unique catalogue “ Polish Science and Innovation for the Environment” published on a CD exclusively for the exhibition. The catalogue presents environmentally friendly technologies, products and concepts which are an attractive and valuable offer for Polish as well as foreign business and research partners.

The Exhibition was presented at the International Ecological Fair POLEKO 27-30 October in Poznań, Poland, Hall V, sector A. Afterwards we welcome to visit the Exhibition stand at POLLUTEC 2008, 2-5 December, Lyon, France – one of the world’s largest trade fair of environmental technologies.

Both in Poznań and in Lyon, there will be seminars taking place at the stand during which the authors of the promoted technologies will present their technologies alongside with some background information on the investment climate in Poland as well as cooperation opportunities. Brokering events will be organised in cooperation with the Europe Enterprise Network.

At POLLUTEC 2008 two conferences will be organized during the International Forum, which is the central event of the fair. The first one will address promotion of the Polish innovation potential and the environmental business investment opportunities in Poland; the other will be devoted to the world COP 14 -Climatic Conference taking place in Poznan parallel to POLLUTEC.

The organises of the National Exhibition „Polish Science and Innovation for the Environment” are convicted that this initiative will contribute to the promotion of Poland as a country with a modern, knowledge based economy, dynamically developing in line with the principles of sustainable development, attractive for those who are interested in doing businesses but also science with the Polish partners.

The National Exhibition "Polish Science and Innovation for the Environment" was opened by Undersecretary of State of Ministry of the Environment Mr. Bernard Błaszczyk an Institute for Ecology of Industrial Areas Director Mr. Jan Skowronek.

During the International Trade Fair for Environmental Protection POLEKO 2008 the National Exhibition "Polish Science and Innovation for the Environment" was awarded with medal of „Acanthus aureus” for the stand judged to be best achieving the company's marketing strategy.
